my beautiful life among the plastic people

I’m massively stoked about seeing Sao Paulo, Brazil’s very own favourite (probably) techno son Gui Boratto live tonight at Plastic People as part of the Kompakt party night (also featuring Chilean Matias Aguayo, gotta love that South American Techno vibe…) from the lovely people at allez-allez.

Boratto’s Chromophobia is my techno album of 2007 (so far) and I never tire of listening to it. it’s just so goddam beautiful! Word on the grapevine (ok, the intarwebs) is that Boratto is AMAZING live, so I’m almost literally spazziing out with anticipation. (Video clips after the ‘jump’…) Continue reading ‘my beautiful life among the plastic people’

Low Tech Predator

My good friend Rico Casazza has a new track out - “Low Tech Predator” - on the first release from the brand new Serialism label,  straight outta Shoreditch, bringing you finest quality bespoke minimal/tech house. You can pick it up at Juno, and on vinyl in all discerning record stores soon. Or, thanks to the magic of the intarwebs,  Martin Laine’s nifty Audio Player Wordpress plug-in, and this very blog, you can enjoy it right here:

Ideally of course, you’ll want to hear it on the “dancefloor”,  so why not get along to  Audio Bass at Rhythm Factory on 10 August, where Rico will be ’spinning’ along with other luminaries of the East London underground minimal/techno/electro/whathaveyou scene.

Here we go again then…

Welcome, gentle readers, to my new blog. I’ve imported my old Typepad blog so as to have something for you to peruse, but I consider this really to be a fresh start. After two years working in Londond and commuting to Cambridge I have recently gone freelance and hope that the extra time I have when I am not involved in hellish commuting will actually result in somewhat more frequent blog posting (more frequent than hardly ever, which is what I was managing lately…) I’ll also take advantage of the marvellous flexibility and extensibility of Wordpress to try to craft something lovely for you all to enjoy, with widgets galore and all manner of unnecessary but cool bells and whistles. So then, here we go again!
